    Family fishing along the Chattooga River

    A valid South Carolina fishing license is required to fish on the national forests. The U.S. Forest Service does not issue any licenses or permits for hunting or fishing. Please visit the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Web site for license and regulations information.


    The Andrew Pickens Ranger District offers lake fishing at Presbyterian Lake, located off Forest Road 2377.


    The Chattooga and Chauga Rivers offer plenty of opportunities for trout fishing and other species. The Chauga River can be accessed near Cassidy Bridge Hunt Camp. The Chattooga can be accessed at the following locations:
